Vacancy - Engineering Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader to lead a team of Mechanical and Electrical Technicians to ensure day to day operations are completed to the highest standard.
Your Role
As Team Leader , you will support the Business Unit Manager in their objectives and be fully responsible for ensuring that day to day maintenance functions within the given role of the business unit, operate safely and efficiently, providing operational areas an on-time service. You will manage, lead by example and develop Engineering Team Members, being the go to technical point of contact on shift. You will manage and ensure all statutory inspections, liaising with insurers as appropriate.
You will regularly review the engineering standards of work and general appearance of the plant, equipment and site generally, liaising with operations to ensure equipment required is serviced and available when required. Working collaboratively with contractors, you will ensure compliance with current regulations.
As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective operation of port equipment/MHE/infrastructure in order to prevent breaches of health and safety and damage to company assets.
What you'll bring
You may already be a Team Leader or keen to move to your first role at this level. You will have proven hands on engineering experience, ideally in a Ports environment, with a track record of leading by example. You will be an inspiring leader with the ability to motivate and develop members of your team.
You will have a strong Mechanical or Electrical background, with the ability to lead teams whilst also maintaining an element of hands on engineering work. The ability to manage the introduction of new initiatives is advantageous.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, and build relationships with the team and external contractors. You will also be comfortable operating in a fast paced and changing environment.
